How do participants track their minutes of exercise?
Participants can enter their minutes on this Go Move website!
When and how is the winning participant determined?
Winners will be picked each week at random, all participants that log minutes are entered into a weekly raffle.
Are there ways to increase my odds of winning?
Create or join a team for a chance to win Stag Bucks.
Who can participate in the challenge?
All Fairfield University full and part-time students.
How does the challenge work?
Participants track their minutes of movement throughout the month. Movement is defined as any intentional exercise that causes at least a small increase in breathing or heart rate. This includes cardio, strength/resistance, mind/body and sports/fitness.
- Cardio – Any indoor or outdoor physical activity that causes a temporary increase in heart rate, with or without a machine. Examples include walking, hiking, running, and biking.
- Strength/Resistance – Any physical activity that utilizes weights or resistance (e.g. barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, medicine balls, resistance bands, gym machines, boxing equipment, gravity, etc.) to increase muscular strength. Examples include weightlifting, CrossFit, circuit training, barre classes, boxing, and rock climbing.
- Yoga/Pilates – Any physical activity executed with a profoundly inward-directed focus that consciously engages the mind. Examples include Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, Tae Kwan Do, Qi Gong, and Karate.
- Sports/Fitness – Any physical activity or fitness class in which individuals or teams compete against themselves or other teams. Examples include basketball, baseball, step class, aerobics class, dance, Zumba, soccer, swimming, spin class, gymnastics, rugby, football, and racquetball.
Can I track my minutes multiple times a day?
Participants can enter their intentional exercise minutes as many times as desired each day throughout the challenge. When entering minutes, participants are asked to indicate the type of exercise performed and duration.
Can I track my minutes on my mobile device?
Yes. The site is mobile device friendly.
Is there a limit to the daily number of minutes that each participant can accumulate?
No, there is no limitation to the daily number of minutes that each participant can accumulate.
What if I forget to track my minutes for a day or even a week?
You can log workouts for previous days by clicking on the “Log Workout” button.
What if I can’t remember if I logged my minutes?
Under the “workouts” area, you will can view your workout history to determine which days you have logged your minutes.
Will other participants see my workouts?
The workouts you log can be viewed only by you and your university’s challenge administrator unless you share your workouts on the Instagram or elsewhere.
